Aisha Farooqi

Aisha Farooqi is an attorney, a former prosecutor and a lifelong Michigander running for Congress in Michigan’s 11th District. She immigrated to the United States as a child and grew up in Detroit Public Schools before graduating from Farmington High School. Aisha earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan–Dearborn and her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Aisha has dedicated her career to public service, fighting for justice in the courtroom, standing up for communities too often ignored by those in power.

As a candidate for Congress, Aisha is running to tackle the affordability crisis, guarantee healthcare for all, fully fund public education, and ensure America’s foreign policy reflects its values by ending the genocide the in Gaza. Aisha believes government should put people over powerful interests, and she is refusing to let corporate money or special-interest PACs such as AIPAC define this race.
